The Republican
Club of Greater Largo was founded in 1983 and is one of the
largest Republican Clubs in Pinellas County, Florida. Our Club is dedicated
to promoting the ideals and purposes of the Republican Party and to supporting
Republican candidates for public office.
We believe in America and what it stands for based on the Constitution
and the Bill of Rights. We believe in the Republican philosophy that
we take control of our own lives and not be dependent on our government.
Through your association
with this group of like-minded people, you can make a difference in your
community. We are proud of the programs that we offer at our general
meetings every month, which touch upon the issues confronting us in our
daily lives. Our meetings also provide you the opportunity to voice your
opinions and views to Republican elected officials and candidates running
for public office in our County who regularly attend our meetings. We
work hand-in-hand with the Pinellas County Republican Executive Committee
to get Republican candidates elected to office during the different election
cycles. Lastly, we are proud of our Club's support of individual civic
projects in our community.
We cordially invite you to attend one of our meetings and find it to
be an enriching and rewarding experience.

MEMBERSHIP
The success and strength of a group is based on its’
membership. RCOGL has had both. The number of members at this time
is approximately 100 and our average attendance is between 35 and
40.
Membership was discussed briefly at the last Board
Meeting and we concluded that we would like to increase membership
at this time. To build on our current numbers
WILL YOU HELP US?
CAN YOU HELP US?
If every current member recruits one person we will
be in great shape. Invite someone to come to a meeting as a guest.
We have new brochures designed by Toni Wolff and will be available
at our next meeting for your taking.
Won’t you please get behind YOUR CLUB and help
us to grow!!
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Packages for the Troops
Evelyn Bartoszek has been
busy assembling and stuffing boxes to mail to the troops. Within the
last two months she has sent out 50 boxes with “stuffings”
furnished by the several Republican Clubs and her neighbors. We do
not want our troops to be forgotten. It is up to us and our fellow
Americans to let these men and women know how much we love them and
appreciate their service to defend and protect our country. We have
to offset the outrageous remarks made on the floor of the United States
Senate and United States House of Representatives about our troops.
These
folks did not join our Armed Forces to be criticized and slandered.
Please add the troops to your shopping list and call Evelyn to arrange
pick up or drop off.
Please check out this link:

americasupportsyou/index.aspx
It is the Department of
Defense’s new website
for “America Supports You Walk”. The purpose of the Walk
is to establish a national tradition to honor the lives lost on September
11, to reflect on our freedoms and the values of our country, and to
show our gratitude for our military men and women around the world
who commit to protecting our freedom.
It also has a great link where you can send e-mails to the troops.
Check it out and hit that link to send e-mails.
The troops need not heed the words of the legislators in Washington
who have personal agendas and using the troops as pawns. Our troops
have to be reminded by our actions (e-mails, packages, etc.) that we,
the American people, really do love them and respect them for defending
and protecting our country. |
PCREC EXECUTIVE
OFFICE
PHONE NO: 539-6009
Call this number if you
have time to volunteer. It is so important that we
help our Republican candidates running for office in 2008, especially
the “chosen one” who will be running for President. This
campaign season will have to be a real team effort to accomplish our
goals. Let’s stick together and get the job done.

ATTENTION MEMBERS AND SPONSORS
The Board of Directors would like to thank our members,
sponsors and elected officials for their loyalty and support of the Club
during 2007, especially our sponsors for their monetary support of the
newsletter and the website. We would like to extend a special “thank
you” to Sam McClelland for coordinating our big fundraiser in October
at the Francis Wilson Playhouse, as well as his financial contribution
towards this event. Representative Jim Frishe receives a big “thank
you” for his contribution towards the expense of mailing our newsletter.
And how do we thank Marty Fredenrich, the master of our website. A big
“thank you” to Marty and to his wife, Rita, who take the
pictures at our meetings.
